I have enjoyed taking care of children as a teenager, a parent and an empty nester. I am still close with two families after 30 years. While raising my daughter, I hosted many, many playdates, volunteered in her classrooms at school and church, took care of my daughter's friend and her younger brother (after school helping with homework, studying for tests, and preparing meals), and also completed a 100 hr. STEM internship through UCSB. After my daughter left for college, I volunteered at a highly organized nondenominational Bible study co-teaching 1st/2nd grade and cared for my friend's three children for date nights, etc. In 2023, I completed Child Nutrition, Health and Safety, Care and Education for Infants and Toddlers, Child Development, and Observation and Assessment classes.
