About Laura

I started babysitting when I was 11. I also had a sister who was 12 years younger than me, so I've spent much of my life caring for children. I had an opportunity to nanny two teenage girls while I attended UW. In 1996, I started my own family. I have two children, a 27-year-old son and a 25-year-old daughter. I spent the better part of their childhood volunteering and/or working at their schools. I vowed I wouldn't take a FT position until both my kids graduated from high school. Well, I achieved that goal. They're both college graduates now. My son owns his own film production company. My daughter is an attorney. I applied at Care. com in January 2015. I've had the opportunity to nanny for 15+ families. I've cared for children of all ages ranging from 3 months to 17 years. In 2016, I decided to take a FT position. I was with them 4+ years until they moved in December 2020. Since then, I've embraced the next chapter of my life by focusing more on Date Nights and weekend overnighters.
