About Laura

Hello! My name is Laura and I am certified in both child and adult CPR, First Aid, and AED. My experience working with children is extensive. For three years, I worked with children of all different cultural backgrounds, ages 4-14 as a teacher for the YMCA. I was responsible for the children's safety, nutrition, and overall well-being while in my care. We did homework, creative projects, inside and outside games. We worked on problem solving and age appropriate social behavior. For six months I lived with a host family in Italy. There, I cared for their young (11 mo.) daughter and maintained the household during the parent's workdays. I also informally taught English to my host family and the employees of the hotel where my host mother managed. Throughout college I worked with high school students. I volunteered at a local high school where I supervised, tutored, and acted as a role-model.
