My name is Lara and I'm an Israeli-American based in New York. I started tutoring 15 years ago. I have been teaching languages (English, Hebrew & Arabic), Judaic Studies (Torah, Tfila, Israeli Literature) and Performing Arts ( such as theater, improv and screenwriting/playwriting) for the past 15 years. I have a Masters in Jewish History from Yeshiva University and an MFA in Screenwriting from Brooklyn College. I teach at Central Synagogue and Kane Street Synagogue. I have a background as a professional actor and do a lot of improv and sketch comedy. I often bring acting exercises into the classroom to ensure students are fully engaged and attain a better grasp of the material. I'm hard working, compassionate and patient. I want my students to enjoy the subject they are learning and not just learn it because they have to.
