About Laila

Hi, I'm Laila, a multilingual artist and educator based in Bushwick, Brooklyn, with a genuine love for spending time with kids. I am certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED (American Red Cross, 2025) and speak English, Urdu/Hindi, and Spanish. I hold a BA from Columbia University and an MFA from Tufts. I have babysat and worked one-on-one with children with autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and Tourette syndrome, and what I have learned is that every child has their own rhythm. I am warm, patient, consistent, and not easily rattled. When I am with kids I like to follow their lead. I am a professional teaching artist, so if they want to do something creative or invent a game, I'm in! I can help with homework, housework and cook a great meal. I'm a life-long pet parent and happy to help with pets as needed. I am available for school pickups and care on weekdays, with flexibility for weekend hours.
