About Kyana

Hello! My name is Kyana and I am eager to help young scholars! Empowering students to reach their full potential is at the focus of my tutoring practice. With two years of experience (as a teacher, tutor, and TA) and a graduate degree, I focus on building confidence and building a genuine love for learning. I help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will help them in and out of the classroom. I tailor my approach by observing how students interact with new material and maintaining open communication. When concepts feel challenging, I break them into smaller steps and provide positive reinforcement to build momentum. Nothing is more rewarding to me than watching your confidence grow as you master new skills. A little about me: I am from SoCal, but now live in DC and work as a consultant during my 9-5. I hold degrees from UCLA and Duke. I am happy to also help with pet care, babysitting, and light household chores.
