About Kristin

I am a retired teacher with 32 years experience in the classroom. I love to help students with reading and math. I am ESL certified and also teach students with dyslexia. I use phonics strategies to teach reading. I also teach the rules of the English language, which helps student become confident readers and writers. I have a lot of math games to teach all areas of elementary mathematics. I'd describe my personality as nurturing, kind, helpful I started tutoring when I retired in the spring of 2023. In my spare time, I like to read and spend time with my family. One thing you should know about me is I start tutoring on the level that students come to me. If your child is one or more grade levels behind, I start there. My skills include phonics rules, helpful strategies, and not rushing the students.
