I'm a 43-year-old visual artist and mother to wonderful 18-year-old twins. I have over 25 years of ALL AGES child care experience. My approach to caregiving is child-led, hands-on, and play-driven, fostering creativity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. I'm ALSO really FUN! 

I am passionate about play-based learning and the MONTESSORI method. I enjoy facilitating age appropriate sensory play activities, music exploration, and planning outdoor time/adventures. 

As a caregiver, I value clear, open communication and frequently provide updates, photos, and texts to keep parents informed and reassured.

Kristen is great. She’s hands-on, upbeat, and kept our child engaged with creative activities, walks outside and lots of conversation. Having Kristen’s help gave me so much peace of mind. Any family would be lucky to have her!

We feel so fortunate to have found Kristen! She has LOTS of experience with kids, ranging from newborns to her own teenagers, and it shows in her patient, creative, and attentive care for our toddler. She's very observant of what's going on with my daughter and helps me put shifts in her skills, interests, and behavior in developmental context. She is also awesome at coming up with age-appropriate activities for her, and has established simple traditions that make routine things like baths and walks to the playground into thrilling events. I've learned a lot from her about Montessori, about things to do in our neighborhood with a little one, and about parenting in general. She's also extremely safety-conscious, which is super-important to me, and keeps me updated throughout the day with texts, videos, and (beautifully lit and composed) photos. She is also just lovely to be around—she's a kind, helpful, and sunny presence in our home. Bonus points: She's awesome with our large and often unruly dog, too! 

Kristen sat for my two toddlers and they had so much fun! She sent me regular pics and updates and the kids gave her 5/5 stars. Will definitely be calling Kristen again, highly recommend. 

Kristen has provided our children with incredible care. She's communicative, reliable, and has really connected with our two kids (3 years old and 1 year old). Our toddler in particular can be a little slow to warm up to new people, but Kristen handled this with so much thoughtfulness and care. Our toddler is so excited each week when she remembers that Kristen is coming. Kristen is really creative and knows our children. She thinks about activities to do with them that really engage them and inspire their inner curiosity. And Kristen is really thoughtful about asking us questions whenever things come up to see how we might handle a situation, and then she's mindful to follow our lead. Kristen was the first non-family member that we had watch our children for an extended period of time. We were nervous when starting out, but we are so grateful to have found her and we trust that our kids are in such capable hands when they're with her. We would absolutely recommend Kristen to anyone looking for childcare, and we're so grateful that we get to continue counting on Kristen to care for our kids. 

 It was our first date night where we left our ~6month old with someone other than family and Kristen was fantastic!   Very responsive, warm and friendly - we felt so at ease with Kristen,  and knew our baby was in great hands!  Will definitely hire her again!

Kristen is full of enthusiasm and brings a positive joy to watching your kid. My son loved having her over so much he couldn't sleep the night before because he knew she was coming back the next day. 

We had a wonderful experience with Kristen! She brought such positive energy each day and was highly engaging with our 10-month-old—singing songs, playing games, exploring outside, and helping support meaningful developmental growth. We can't say enough positive things about Kristen as a caretaker; we feel incredibly lucky to have found her and are excited to continue working together in the future. Our baby absolutely adored her. 

Kristen took care of our 19-month old for a day last week when we needed back-up care, and she was amazing! Our kiddo warmed up to her right away, which is saying something, and they had tons of fun together. She was constantly talking and singing with him and finding creative ways to keep him entertained while we were working. She was super comfortable with taking him on walks, playing inside or outside, and following our food and nap schedule with very little instruction ahead of time. We'll definitely ask Kristen to babysit again soon!

Kristen watched our two girls for a few nights while we were visiting from out of town. Our girls instantly connected with her (and that’s no small feat). She met the kids where they were at, and at the same time she paid close attention to our notes in bed time routines, etc. We would be thrilled to have Kristen watch our girls in the future (and so would they!).

Kristen has great energy and patience. She was able to keep our daughter engaged and calm even with a high level of separation anxiety and two work from home parents. She was able to keep up with a busy 11-12 month old and step in and do what was needed with little direction. We would definitely recommend Kristen and wish she was still here!

Kristen is an incredible child care provider who made our four kids feel instantly comfortable when we were fortunate enough to hire her for an afternoon while on vacation in New Orleans. From the moment we met her, we had zero concerns about leaving four children ranging 8 months to seven years in her care, and she handled it like a pro. The kids had a blast, and you could see Kristen’s extensive Montessori experience coming through in the activities they did together and the meal they all sat down together to enjoy. (If only we could get them to be so civilized at home!) While we were out we received lots of updates and cute pictures of the fun time they were having. I only wish that we lived in the same city so that we could hire Kristen on a regular basis. 

  My three boys (3,6,9) were immediately captivated by Kristen. She graciously offered an introductory visit a few days prior to her scheduled babysitting, allowing them to acclimate to her warm and easygoing demeanor. Typically cautious around new people, they were surprisingly at ease with her from the start.
Kristen's enthusiasm was infectious. They spent hours constructing an elaborate marble run from Amazon boxes, a testament to her ability to spark their imaginations.
  Having traveled extensively and encountered numerous babysitters, the kids enjoyed her presence the most.
  We would wholeheartedly rehire Kristen and consider her our first choice for future childcare needs.

Kristen is wonderful!  She has provided babysitting for our almost two year old twins.  She is a twin parent herself, and we felt she had an almost magic touch with our twins that we deeply appreciated.  She has a wonderfully calm presence and ability to create fun.  The twins absolutely adore her!  I highly recommend Kristen and hope to be able to work with her again.

Kristen was awesome! We hired her to watch our 22 month old son for a week while we were visiting CA from out of town.  Kristen was always engaged with our son, whether they were playing at the park, working on an art project, or having lunch. Kristen was also very easygoing and flexible and easy to communicate and work with.  Our son loved her and is still asking about her. We all miss her for sure and we would 100% hire her again.

Kristen was amazing with our almost 2yr old. She was super attentive and creative in finding engaging games/activities to do with our boy. He warmed up to her almost immediately and had a wonderful day. Thank you and we will be reaching out again next time we need someone to care for him!!
