Experience: 10 yrs
With 18 years of experience caring for children of all ages, I truly love what I do. Building meaningful bonds with kids and meeting them exactly where they are is one of my greatest strengths. Organization is my superpower, and I use it to create calm, structured environments where children feel safe, supported, and able to thrive. I'm compassionate, patient, reliable, and creative, always thinking of engaging ways to help children reach their milestones while having fun. I also love supporting families as a whole and helping out wherever I can to make daily life run more smoothly. I'm excited to meet the next family I'll be working with, whether it be as a nanny or as a family assistant. If chosen as a family assistant, my rate is different, and I'm happy to chat about it when we meet. Please note that I am allergic to cats and most dogs.
Kristen has been part of our family for 10 years — first as our full-time nanny for 6 years, and for the past 4 years in a part-time capacity while working with other families. She now has room to take on a new family, and any family would be lucky to have her. Kristen practically raised our two children, now 14 and 10, and she is adored by them like a third parent. Over the past decade she's been conscientious, trustworthy, dependable, organized, and flexible. She is a great communicator and very safety conscious, and she has an outstanding ability to anticipate what our family needs before we even ask. Beyond childcare, Kristen has become an invaluable family assistant — she's excellent at helping run a household, from coordinating schedules and errands to keeping day-to-day logistics on track. Over the years she's taken our children on countless outings (the park, the library, the Oakland Zoo, Rain or Shine, Lawrence Hall of Science, and more) and has seamlessly managed drop-off and pick-up for play dates, school, and after-school activities. Kristen earned her B.A. at UC Berkeley and had years of nannying experience with other families before she came to work for us. We are endlessly grateful for the decade she's given our family, and we give her our highest possible recommendation.
