About Kirsten

Kirsten nurturing, creative, adventurous, one with nature I have worked with Kirsten for five years. Together we built a successful outdoor program for children ages three to six on a community farm. Kirsten s experience as a mother and her education in early childhood make her an outstanding early childhood educator and nurturer. Kirsten sees the whole child, meets him/her where he/she is and embraces him/her with her whole heart. She naturally and effortlessly involves children in meaningful work like (cooking, cleaning etc.), crafts and taking care of one another. One of the biggest gifts Kirsten brings to children is her deep love for and connectedness with nature. No weather keeps Kirsten inside; she loves it all. Her comfort with nature is contagious and opens up a world for children. Kirsten has the rare ability to be deeply involved with a child and at the same time be able to step back and let the child unfold from inside. She allows children to be and to play freely without her dictating their play or a need to program their day. She creates a beautiful daily rhythm in a care setting that gives children security and allows them to feel safe to explore and to let their imagination soar. She provides both warmth as well as opportunities for adventure. Kirsten loves a good adventure! Kirsten has a big imagination and fosters the development of the child s inner imagination through stories and songs.
