About Kerrie

I am a 29-year-old CU Boulder graduate (molecular, cellular, and developmental biology). Since I graduated, I have been finishing post-bacc work and TAing/being a lab manager at CU. I will be applying to master's programs in the near future, but for now, I'm very interested in caregiving roles! In June of 2025, my mom struggled with severe and sudden cognitive decline, and I became one of her caregivers. Her issues presented as sudden onset-dementia, which meant she required bathing, medication management, help with daily tasks, incontinence care, and a lot of patience. My family was fortunate enough to be able to hire a private caregiver, and that experience was life changing for all of us. Thankfully, my mom has made big improvements, and no longer requires such intensive care. That has left me with additional free time, and the thought that I'd like pour care back into my community the way that my mom's caregiver poured love into her.
