Experience: 10 yrs
Hello, my name is Kelly. I have been working in healthcare since 2012 and bring 14 years of hands on experience across a wide range of care settings. My background includes nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, hospice care, independent living, private duty care, and I currently work as a Patient Care Technician at UPMC. This experience allows me to provide both skilled and assisted living support tailored to each individual's needs. I assist with personal care, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and transportation to appointments. I believe quality care should never be cookie cutter. Every person deserves attention that respects their routines, preferences, and dignity. I am dependable, attentive, and committed to providing compassionate, individualized care. I am available for day or night shifts on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Kelly is incredibly caring, thoughtful, attentive and kind. She cared for my grandmother for two years, including hospice care until she passed away. She was like family to us and was so sweet with my grandmother. Kelly has 14 years of experience (including hospice care). She took care of my grandmother who was paralyzed on the right side after her stroke and had dementia. Kelly kept a journal for two years in which she wrote daily summaries about my grandmother’s condition/overview of daily care. She was gentle and loving when she braided my grandmother’s hair, bathed/optioned her, transferred her from bed to wheelchair, and changed her. She sought out things my grandmother enjoyed (like Indian music which she played for her), videos, and photos from my grandmother’s favorite photo albums. My grandmother could not understand English after her stroke, and Kelly learned some Bengali (Indian language) words to be able to speak with her. In the winter, she built a tiny snowman for my grandmother so she could enjoy the snow. Kelly shared photos and videos she took of my grandmother that are now very precious to us. She went above and beyond and even did additional cleaning for us. I am so grateful that we had Kelly with us until my grandmother’s last day. In the end, it was often Kelly who successfully fed my grandmother and got her to eat and drink. She paid attention to my grandmothers quirks and preferences, and really loved her in such a gentle and genuine way. I am so grateful we had Kelly and I strongly recommend her as a caregiver.
