About Gianna

I am a graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh with extensive experience caring for older adults in both hospital and outpatient settings. My clinical training includes working with individuals following stroke, dementia, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological conditions. I provide cognitive-communication therapy, swallowing evaluations and treatment, and support patients with memory, communication, and daily functioning. In addition to my clinical experience, I cared part-time for my grandmother as she lived with early-onset Alzheimer's disease before transitioning to a nursing home. I assisted with bathing, personal care, and managing agitation and sundowning, which taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and compassionate communication. I strive to provide dependable, person-centered care while maintaining open communication with families and supporting each person's independence and dignity.
