I just started as a DSP with Solin Sanctuary this year, and I love the focus on building life skills, positive emotional environments, good communication, and increasing autonomy and self-expression. All of the values from Montessori and other experiential learning environments I've had in my life can really shine in this context. I can be socially awkward, as I am mildly neurodivergent, but working with this population, this is not a deficit. I feel I can be both useful and myself working with this population.
