I am very familiar with children who have special needs. My next door neighbor when I was growing up had a child with special needs who was a few years younger than me. In the summer of 2016/17 I nannied a family with an 8-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son with Down syndrome! I also nannied another child with Aspergers in 2018. Finally, while I was a summer camp counselor, one of my campers also had Down syndrome!! My favorite part about working with kids is their ability to love unconditionally and infinite imagination through play! I love working with all kids, but I do have a special soft spot with special needs children.
