About Kayla

I enjoy working with children because they're genuine and ask insightful questions. Their thirst for knowledge inspires me, and I'm honored to teach them about the world. Learning opportunities arise in every aspect of our interactions, from reading books to exploring the world around us. At 40, I have two grown daughters. I pursued nursing (midwifery) as a dream, but balancing school, work, and motherhood proved unsustainable. Since then, I've held various leadership roles, including managing meat and seafood departments at grocery stores. Currently, I'm a sous chef at a busy local restaurant. My responsibilities include scheduling, food and supply orders, leading my team, and managing over 100 recipes. While I'm passionate about my work, 60-hour weeks don't allow for a balanced life. I believe my diverse skill set between nursing, motherhood and experience in restaurant management would be valuable to any family.
