About Kayla

Hi! I'm Kayla, the oldest of four siblings, so I joke that I've been a mini tutor for most of my life! I'm currently pursuing my PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and also hold a master's degree in the same field. I have two years of experience tutoring high school students and have spent the past five years coaching and mentoring junior high students! I'd love to work with students from elementary through high school in math, science, and English. I'm patient, encouraging, and adaptable, and I try to make learning feel approachable rather than intimidating. I love finding different ways to explain a concept until it clicks, while also helping students stay organized, keep up with assignments, and build routines that make school feel more manageable. My goal is for students to leave our sessions not only understanding the material better, but also feeling more capable and confident in themselves as learners!
