I have experience caring for children ever since I was in high school. I have watched up to 4-6 children at a time from the ages of 4 months old to 14 years old. In the previous job I had, I was a Mental Health Coordinator working with the elderly. As a Mental Health Coordinator, I would lead groups such as Anger Management, Self-Healers (how to cope/heal yourself of negative emotions), Music, and Physical Exercise. I also had my own caseload of individuals. This experience taught me that positive diversions are essential for building a positive mindset. I also have a bachelor's degree. Currently, I am working to be credentialed as a Special Education Teacher at San Diego State University. My credential will be to work with children that have mild to moderate disabilities. I also come from a family of special education teachers. Therefore, teaching runs in the family.

I highly recommend hiring Kayla! She has taken care of our now 9-month old for the past 5 months. As a first time mom nervous, I was nervous to have anyone watch our baby but Kayla made it a wonderful experience for everyone. She genuinely cares for our little one and is so kind and patient with him. Kayla has been extremely flexible with our changing schedule and she has always been on time. She has strong communication skills as well and keeps me in the loop throughout the day. Her background in education really comes through in how she interacts with our little one and she actively helps him through milestones like crawling and standing with support.
