Hi l'm Kawia! I have lots of experience with adults ranging from different ages to different needs including alzheimer's and hospice. I am a person who thinks that care-giving is more than just a "job". I am someone who loves and care for people as if they were they were my own family. In addition I can take the dog out, I have a reliable car, I'm comfortable with being around pets, and l'm a non-smoker. I'm currently a NCP at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital on Trauma/Med-Surg ( working Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays 7a-7:30p). I have my CPR certification, COVID vaccine, I've recently graduated from ODU with a bachelor's in biomedical science, and plan to attend medical school in 2027. Kawia was a weekend caregiver for both of my parents, and her thoughtful and proactive care made a tremendous difference in their quality of life—and mine. She took initiative without being asked, made creative suggestions that genuinely improved their comfort, and was incredibly responsive when urgent situations arose. My Mom, in particular, could be very challenging—his illness made him short-tempered and resistant to help—but Kawia never flinched. She approached her with gentleness and quiet confidence, earning his trust when few others could. With my Dad, she was patient and attentive, managing sundowning episodes with calm, redirection, and the kind of care that made my mom feel safe. She’s an exceptional caregiver in every sense of the word.
