About Katie

One of my skills and passions in life is connecting with and teaching children. Being trained as a private music instructor in college prepared me for complex teaching situations, and my 18 years of music teaching has equipped me with ample experience with many varied learning styles and abilities. In addition to 18 years of private music instruction, I have also home schooled my own children and taught varied subjects in homeschool co-ops. I am prepared and adept in tutoring English Grammar and writing, Math up through pre-algebra, history, study skills, and computer skills. My method involves training the student how to identify the problem, understand it, and work through themselves until mastery is achieved. I enjoy making it personal and fun and value each student as an individual.
