About Katie

I babysat for my neighbors as a freshman in high school for the majority of the year and they were both in elementary school. Starting as a sophomore in high school I enrolled in early childhood education as an elective and learned basic knowledge on children and continued throughout high school taking the class. In early childhood 2, we would create lesson plans and share them with the VPK our high school had available and would be graded on them. In early childhood 3, we were assigned an off-campus VPK center and would go there every week and help out in a real classroom and do whatever the teacher needed us too and interacted with the children. My summer before going into my sophomore year of college, I worked at a VPK/pre-school/daycare, where I worked with mostly 4-5-year-olds but also young toddlers to toddlers. I worked there more over this Thanksgiving and winter break and plan to work there this summer as well.
