About Katie

With six years of experience as an educator, I specialize in creating supportive environments where students of all ages can thrive. I hold degrees in Adolescent Education and English; I am NYS-Certified to teach ELA, ENL, and Spanish. I've also taught SAT Prep and college-level Composition. I help students break down complex problems into manageable steps, and I use varied strategies, like visual aids, hands-on activities, and spiraled study and practice, to ensure mastery. I prioritize open communication with families to build trust and track progress. Whether we are tackling test preparation, English, college essay writing, or even music (I teach piano!), I focus on fostering critical thinking skills and celebrating every success.
