About Kathryn

I am currently a full time nanny for twin 2-year-olds starting when they were 8 weeks old. I was a public school teacher for 14 years teaching kindergarten through 6th grade, primarily focusing on reading and literacy, but I've taught a bit of everything through the years. I love children and have experience caring for kids from birth through the teen years, primarily newborns through age 11. I was CPR certified as a teacher but let it expire. I would be open to renewing if needed. I specialize in newborns and multiples. I believe children learn through discovery so I'm more likely to follow the child's lead in play unless they need to be distracted, but I am also skilled at organizing games or activities when children get bored or restless. I love books and reading and I enjoy cooking and baking in my free time. I recently took up embroidery and am loving it! I'd describe my personality as authentic, nurturing, and empathetic.
