About Katherine

Hello, I'm Katy! I am currently in a pursuing a MA in art education at the University of Arkansas, and am looking for part time work after graduation in May as I begin applications for PhD programs next year. A little bit about my background--I am originally from Tucson, Arizona. I am a certified teacher and taught K-7th grade art for 3 years. Starting in 2020, prior to beginning my graduate work, I began working in preschool settings and as a nanny with children aged 0-7 years old. My favorite thing about working with children is developing collaborative bonds. I believe that meeting milestones is gained through structure, play, imagination, and creativity. I hope to work with a family that has similar values the motivations and individualities of their children. In addition to my experience as a caretaker I am also comfortable managing household duties and would be eager to help with pets, errands, chores, and cooking--cooking is one of my favorite hobbies!
