About Kate

Hello! I am a NYS certified 6-12 ELA teacher looking to help your child be a successful and enthusiastic reader and writer! I have 5+ years of teaching experience in grades 9-12, and 8+ years of experience working with children ages 4-12 as a daycare provider and nanny. I am also a mother to three children, one of whom is special needs. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, working on my native wildflower garden (with a frog pond!), hiking with the scouts, reading (my goal is to read at least 150 books this year!) and writing. I am currently working on a novel. I consider myself to be an understanding, patient, and empathetic teacher. I understand that all children learn differently, and have unique learning styles and preferences. I want to help your child be, not just successful, but confident in their ability to read and write.
