About Karissa

Hello! I am a Clinical Psychology PsyD student at Alliant International University with a B. A. in Psychology from California State University Channel Islands and three Associate of Arts degrees earned with Highest Honors. For over seven years, I have tutored students from preschool through college, providing individualized instruction in core subjects, study skills, and evidence-based reading intervention, including Orton-Gillingham methods for students with dyslexia. My teaching philosophy is that every student can succeed when instruction is tailored to their unique strengths and learning style. I create a supportive, engaging environment that builds confidence, encourages critical thinking, and promotes independence. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to foster a lifelong love of learning and help every student reach their full potential.
