I have extensive experience working with special needs children. Since 2008, I have worked as a Therapeutic Support Specialist through two mental health agencies. I worked one on one with children in the school setting and the home setting. I have experience interacting with children who have been diagnosed with autism, asperger's, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, PDD, ADHD, anxiety disorder and depression. The specific ages that I have had the most experience working with ranged from 4-12. Another significant experience I have had interacting with children was volunteering for the Big Brother/Big Sister program. I was a Big sister to a young girl for four years. I was with her from her kindergarten year to until fourth grade. During our time together we went to YMCA to swim, baked all sorts of treats, went to the park, went bowling, ice skating, went to a few minor league baseball games. We also spent time just sitting at home and watching movies. I find enjoyment doing any activity outdoors whether it is time at a park, playing a soccer or another sport activity outside, taking a walk, etc. I enjoy making children happy and making them laugh.
