About Kara

I am very kind, calm, and friendly and love managing household tasks. I am very skilled at assessing needs and helping to set things up so that seniors can do as much as possible on their own to maintain a sense of independence. I have never been paid by an employer for caretaking, but I am the main caretaker for my niece, my elderly mother, and was for one of my aunts. I have been a professional cook (at Whole Foods, so I am well versed in special diets for meal prep,) a librarian so I know how to plan and organize activities for all ages, and a restaurant server for many many years so my customer service skills are impeccable. I am also able to hold space for grief, depression, and loneliness that can come from time spent alone or loss of a sense of purpose. I try to empower everyone I meet to do their best to accept where they are and do what they can from that place.
