About Kara

Hi! I'm a WMU alumni who currently works as a dog walker & trainee, but also loves kids! I've had a variety of experience working with kids of all ages and needs. I love being able to come up with new and fun things for kids to do. As a Kalamazoo native, I know all the best places for field trips and adventures! I've worked with kids in some capacity for 10 yrs, either paid or volunteered! I worked in a daycare setting for a year, babysat for friends and family, and am now the proud aunt of a 2 yr old and 8month old. I have also volunteered in my church nursery and taught Sunday School classes. I took two years of college coursework for Elementary Education before changing my major and graduating with a degree in Nonprofit Administration. I think one of the most important things about being a caregiver is making sure kids feel safe and comfortable enough to explore the world and discover themselves!
