In 2017 I began working with adults who experience developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. The work has been fun and rewarding in itself, however I also noticed some of the skills I learned there kicking in while communicating with my 99-year-old Grandmother. She has recently begun to feel some effects of dementia, which has been hard on the whole family. One of my Aunts noticed that I've been able to get through to her more quickly than many people, and suggested that I look into working with folks who experience dementia. So here I am, on Care Dot Com, just hoping to give a little relief and share a little joy with a family or two!
