About Kalinah

Hi! I'm Kali, an experienced educator and tutor with 8+ years of experience working with children and families. I specialize in literacy, reading intervention, writing, elementary/middle school math, and homeschool support. I'm trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach and use structured, individualized instruction to help students strengthen phonics, decoding, spelling, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing. I also support students in math, including foundational skills, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and problem-solving. My approach is patient, energetic, and highly interactive. I incorporate games, movement, visuals, and students' interests whenever possible, particularly for learners who struggle with traditional instruction. I'm bilingual, have lived/ worked internationally, and have extensive experience working one-on-one with families. I believe learning should build confidence-not just improve grades-and I love helping students recognize their power.
