Hello, families! My core belief about education is that positive association is everything. Learning new things is already challenging. If a child comes away from an educational experience feeling shame, anger, or sadness, it is even more difficult for them to retain the subject matter that was taught. In my six years of experience, I have taken extraordinary pleasure in maintaining a positive, enjoyable atmosphere around education - even when children are experiencing difficulty or feeling frustrated. I always come prepared. I spend time outside of tutoring sessions making my own notes about every student, including talking points, concepts to reiterate, and creating visual aids. I want to know about your child's hobbies and interests so I can effectively relate subject matter to things they already know well. Learning can be enjoyable, funny, weird, and deeply rewarding for them. Bringing a child measurable success through positive interactions is deeply rewarding for me.
