I am a 25-year-old female nursing student with cosmetology experience that loves to help others. I have a disabled cousin, and an elderly grandmother whom I lost to lupus and many other illnesses. My father had brain surgery almost a year ago and my aunt had lung cancer. My passion is to help others in need of a good life, providing companionship for disabled adults and the elderly/hospice to live independently in their own homes. My responsibilities are giving great companionship supporting adults with physical and mental developmental behavioral disabilities living in their own homes, seeking independence. As a personal attendant working with families/children/adults, I assist clients with shopping, housekeeping, cooking, bathing, personal care, medication, transferring, doctors' appointments, dressing, some basic financial balancing, attending social activities and outings, keeping log books up to date, and feeding through feeding tubes, and trach. I have experience with Alzheimer's, Dementia, and stroke patients. Most of all, making an effort to show my clients we are all human, we are all just made differently. I'm a fast learner and very attentive with or without supervision. I have great communication skills and patience which is extremely important when working with persons with disabilities. I have my own car and insurance, a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and am CPR certified. I have a clear DOJ Live Scan, and no substance abuse. I also have a clear result from TB testing. I clearly believe I am very qualified for the position, and would love to hear more about this position and possibly joining this great establishment as it would be an opportunity for experience towards my home care career. I am available for 3 to 12 hour shifts. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
