As a Direct Support Professional, I provided daily care and support to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. I helped clients with personal care, meal prep, medication administration, and transportation to appointments or community activities. I also focused on creating a positive, safe, and encouraging environment -- helping clients build independence and confidence in their daily routines. I learned how to stay calm in stressful situations, communicate clearly, and handle different behaviors with patience and understanding. I also built strong relationships with both clients and team members, which taught me the importance of teamwork and compassion in caregiving.
