About Julie

I started working with kids when I was still a kid myself! My career path got deeply into it when teaching art and creative movement at Portland Parks and Recreation for 3+ years and interning in a preschool before moving to Oakland in 2010, where I worked in a local preschool (was fingerprinted here), before being hired by a great family as a nanny for a child from age 20 mos - 6 years old, when she graduated to group care. Her mother has been a Stanford professor of Education for many years and has written a wonderful review I can share with you, in which she describes interviewing 70(1) nannies before hiring me. I am happy to remain very close with this family. I have also done childcare and housekeeping for various Bay Area families, all of whom will be happy to speak to you. Previously I have been a historical research assistant (until funding ran out for my position), editor, personal assistant, literacy tutor, and studied massage and still do therapeutic massage for my friends.
