About Julie

For over 6 years, I've taught 1st and 2nd grade. I'm also a certified Reading Specialist. I'd describe my personality as patient, creative, and kind! I like tutoring because I am able to individualize my instruction to the needs of 1 child and help them not only to learn a new skill but to build confidence in themselves and their ability to learn as well! I'm looking for a job that is consistent with clear communication where I can make a difference in a child's/ a family's life. I started tutoring when I started working as a teacher six years ago. More recently I have worked as a reading tutor for three years of students in my school district. In my spare time, I like to do anything creative like arts and crafts, go on hikes with my friends, and spend time at the beach! My skills include structured literacy instruction, foundational math skills, and play based learning.
