About Julia

Hi! I'm Julia (she/her). I'm a current graduate student at the Crown Family School of Social Work at UChicago, and originally from Boston, MA. I've always had a passion for working with young people and have worked with kids of all ages and abilities. In high school, I was a nanny for a family with 4 kids (infancy-8 y/o). In college, I studied social work at Simmons University, where I worked with Strong Women Strong Girls, 826 Boston, and Housing Families. Outside of school, I was also a substitute teacher and paraprofessional for pre-K-Grade 8 students in Hull, MA. After graduating with my BSW in 2023, I spent 2 years as the Enrichment Coordinator for EnrichEd, a therapeutic after-school at Housing Families in Malden, MA. I'm super child-centered and love learning new things from/with young people. I feel that as long as kids are safe, having fun, and learning along the way, it was a good day! In my free time, I love to read, write, listen to music, and spend time outside!
