About Joyce

While in college earning my Psychology degree I had my first nannying job working with a single mother to care for her 3-year-old daughter. This experience sparked my passion for working with young children. I had loved babysitting since the age of 12, but motivated me to earn my Early Childhood Education units. I then taught preschool (2. 5 - 4 years old) for 3 years. I subsequently earned my California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential . I taught in the public-school classroom for 5 years teaching students in Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and second grade. From my different experiences I realized that the fundamental focus on learning through play and social emotional learning was something that I could not easily do in the public-school setting. I will create a safe, fun, engaging, and supportive environment where I can give them the individualized support and care that I believe helps children grow.
