About Joshua

For over 10 years, I've been helping students unlock their full potential through personalized support and customized teaching plans. I hold a graduate degree and believe that "understanding the why" behind a problem is key to lifelong learning. I assess individual learning styles by actively listening and observing how students engage with new material, then adapt my teaching with visual aids, hands-on activities, and open discussions. To keep students motivated, I connect challenging concepts to real-world examples and break down complex problems into manageable steps. The most rewarding part of tutoring is seeing a student's confidence grow as they master new skills and building a supportive relationship that makes learning enjoyable. I have CPR training and First Aid, have a car, and I am comfortable with pets. I hold a BS from USMA, an engineering Masters from CU Boulder, and I'm completing my PhD at CU in emergent nanomaterials.
