About Joshua

I currently work as the site leader for an afterschool program in a DC Public Elementary School. I also have experience working in middle schools as a student-teacher and a camp counselor. I have experience working with kids with or without disability ages 3-12, and have an incredible amount of patience and understanding for all kids. I especially understand the importance of a caregiver-child relationship, so my upmost goal is to maintain that by keeping clear, honest, and proactive communication with you as well as working to keep the safety of a child. I am especially focused on social-emotional learning, and take an extra effort to help children identify emotions, manage their emotions and actions so that they are aligned and intentional, be responsible to themselves and others, aware of their surroundings and the impact of their actions, and how to navigate social norms to best facilitate authentic relationships. I believe I have a well rounded toolkit to be a secure presence!
