About Jorge

For the last 25 years I have worked as a caregiver. My experience has giving me the opportunity to take care of over 80 clients, with all kind of necessities. Alzheimer and dementia patients; patients with strokes; patients with different diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer; patients in hospice; and patients that just need help with their daily activities. All with the most reliable responsability, honesty and compassion. I'd describe my personality as cheerful, amenable and loving. I like caring for seniors because it give me the opportunity to serve and care for elderly people who needs lovely and responsible assistance. I'm looking for a job that fulfills my patient expectations, as well as mine. I started caring for seniors in 2000 In my spare time, I like to read. My skills include medical related experience; professional daily care; and safety conducting any activity.

My initial intent was to simply describe Mr. Jorge Delgado with one word, “superb” because this says it all. What could or can be more approriate for him than superb? It certainly says it all, and exceeds “very good” and even “excellent,” and would save me time. But, then, it seemed to me that those who read this would like to know the reasons for my high total opinion of Mr. Delgado (Jorge from now on) and complete satisfaction with his (and sometimes his wife’s, Ms Delgado or Edna) care. I first hired Jorge about 8 years ago. At that time, age (about 85) was starting to exact is toll. Driving on the the freeways and shopping were starting to be a problem and I needed help. He was always on time, invariably helpful and constantly helpful. His assistance and service were very valuable to me. I thought that such help would meet all my needs for many years to come. As it turned out these early years of care by Jorge were practice for was yet to come. In January 2020 I fell and broke my hip. Surgery and a long period at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) hospital and a so called Skilled Nursing Facility (SMF) followed. A few weeks after returning home I suddenly needed gall bladder surgery. On my return after the latter I was bed ridden and unable to move because the hip surgery required six months to heal. I was totally dependent on Jorge for everything from being lifted out of bed for a doctor’s visit, through bodily functions to even turning in bed. That is when Jorge shined. He did everything I needed superbly (that word again!). Following my getting ot ouf bed I was restricted to a wheel chair and needed permanent help. I hired Jorge to care for me. He (sometimes his wife) has been with me ever since (5.5 years now) and have cared for me wonderfully. All my needs are met. Food is always ready on time and good (only “problem” is that Jorge insists on it being good, healthy and wholesome whereas I prefer the “ungood,” “unhealthy” and “unwholesome” kind). My clothes are washed and ironed regularly. I am bathed daily. The house is cleaned properly. Even my dog is taken to the veterinarian in a timely fashion. A number of other matters: ● I have a habit of leaving money laying around. Not a penny was ever missing. ● Nothing is/was taken out of the house without my permission. ● When Jorge and/or his wife shop for me, they always bring receipts and account folly for all expenditures. ● If Jorge needs time off he warns me on time and usually arranges for his wife to be here. ● All my visitors are treated politely and properly. ● A few times when friends of mine needed a care giver I recommended Jorge or his wife. All those who hired them were always very satisfied and complimentary. This included/includes care for an autistic boy and a cute dog, which is not overly fond of strangers.
