About Jo

Hello, I am a licensed K-6 educator with nearly 20 years of experience teaching grades 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7. I was awarded as Teacher of the Year in my district and I take a lot of pride in providing interventions that meet the unique needs of all students. Although I currently teach math, I have also taught reading/writing, science and social studies. I'm a mom to 2 grown daughters and a son in the 5th grade. I love my profession and every year brings new challenges but also so many rewards! I have a lot of availability in the summer months and I'd love to work with your child! I'd describe my personality as easygoing, friendly, and funny. I'm looking for a job that allows some flexibility for family time this summer. In my spare time, I like to travel, read, and take long walks with my grand pup! My skills include teaching readers to decode and improve their comprehension, promoting number sense in math, and providing at level materials and learning opportunities.
