About Jo

I'd describe my personality as intentional, playful, and grounded. I like working with kids because they remind me to think differently and always add more play and curiosity to my life. They are always teaching me how to be fully present. I love the joys and challenges that come with being a caregiver. As a college student who hasn't been around kids as much the past few years, I really feel my life is missing this multigenerational exposure. I started working with kids when I was 14 and some of my neighbors needed a fill-in babysitter. I continued working for these families on a regular basis for a couple years. In my spare time, I like to get outside, read, play music (I play many instruments but have been falling in love with the banjo since moving to North Carolina), make food with friends, garden, and make art. I always strive to be meeting kids where they are at and attuning to their needs, being patient and grounded, and facilitating play in all its forms.
