About Joanne

I am an experienced educator and school leader with a strong background in science education and curriculum development. I earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Old Dominion University and I have dedicated my career to helping students achieve academic success. I taught middle school and high school in Norfolk Public schools for 8 years, where I provided instruction in science and mathematics while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. In addition to my classroom experience, I worked as a tutor, helping students strengthen their academic skills and build confidence in their abilities. Throughout my career I have demonstrated a passion for educational excellence by designing and implementing a comprehensive ELA, Mathematics, and Science curriculum for a private school. The curriculum focuses on student centered learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and academic growth.
