My name is Joanna (Jojo). I have a bachelor's degree in education. I am a career teacher/nanny of 10 years. I am interested in being a nanny to another family when my current position ends at the end of December (check out their recommendation on the bottom of my profile). I have worked as an infant/toddler teacher, preschool teacher, substitute elementary teacher, and full time nanny. I am also trained in CPR, vaccinated and have worked with children with special needs. I sing often and change lyrics to narrate our day. I love to read children's books and use pretend play as an opportunity for social-emotional growth. My caregiving philosophy is conscious/respectful/gentle, but not permissive. I teach emotional intelligence and regulation, boundaries and natural consequences. It is my belief that children strive under the guidance of loving, consistent, fair caregivers.

Our family loves Jojo. She has been a consistent presence in our lives for almost 3 years. She has been so thoughtful in her approach to caregiving with our two young girls. She is very educationally focused and takes them to the library at least weekly for a new round of books (my girls love this tradition and have read literally hundreds of books under her guidance). She also has researched different programs, such as music classes, that played to their interests and were a beautiful creative outlet. She loves to take the kids out of the house to be active on the playground or to experience the zoo or other local attractions. One of Jojo’s strengths is her emotional intelligence and her approach to creating a secure and safe environment for kids to express themselves. Both of our girls excel in language and naming their feelings and I know this is in part due to Jojo’s kind, patient approach with them. We are only parting ways with Jojo due to a change in family circumstances. I know she will make another family very happy but we will miss her and still hope to see her often for play dates or babysitting engagements.
