About Joan

With over decade of babysitting, caregiving, and educational experience, I am someone who's always valued working with kids in many ways. Besides nannying, I've worked for several years at an outdoor kids summer camp (ages 5-14), doing environmental education and outdoor recreational activities with kids. Outside of work experience, I am First AID and CPR certified and completed my Bachelor's degree with coursework in child development and psychology. I've worked with kids age newborn to 14 including kids with developmental differences. I love doing hand-on activities with kids encouraging imagination and a goofy energy while maintaining the expectations and rules that parents value. In my experience, boredom is the biggest cause of naughtiness, so I really prioritize keeping kids occupied, balancing fun activities with responsibility. Plus the more involved I am with their play, the more fun for me as well!
