About Jia

Hi! I'm Jia, a bilingual Mandarin tutor based in Santa Clara. I'm fluent in Mandarin and English and have over 4 years of teaching and academic program experience in the U. S. and China. I previously taught Mandarin at Rutgers University, working with college students and high school bridge students. I designed lessons to build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, and I also led a Rutgers study abroad program in Beijing. My teaching style is supportive, structured, and personalized. I adapt lessons based on each student's level, personality, and goals. I tutor children, teens, and adults and can help with beginner to intermediate Mandarin, speaking and pronunciation, reading and writing, homework support, and conversational Mandarin.
