I started senior care when my 71-year-old grandfather went to the ER for a life threatening bladder infection in April 2026. He had a catheter in his body for 3 months, but because he was born with cerebral palsy, the catheter completely impaired his ability to live an independent life. During that time, I became his full time caregiver, and even lived with him in his home for 3 weeks. In the last 3 months, I've learned basic nursing skills such as emptying and replacing catheter bags, organzing medicines every week, dressing wounds and bedsores, and providing assistance with showering and using the toilet. I can assist in physical therapy, appointment scheduling, dietary planning, and basic care tasks, such as grocery shopping, house cleaning, and cooking. I'm very attentive to the needs of the people I care for, especially if they have physical disabilities.
