About Jess

I'm a classroom teacher and trained Orton-Gillingham tutor who helps lower elementary students become stronger, more confident readers. I use a structured literacy approach to teach reading and spelling in a clear, step-by-step way. Lessons are multisensory, personalized, and designed to build on what a student already knows so new skills truly stick. My goal is to help students strengthen their foundational reading skills while also building confidence and independence. I especially enjoy working with students who are struggling with reading, spelling, or dyslexia-related challenges. I keep my tutoring caseload small so that each student receives individualized instruction and consistent support. I also value strong communication with families and work closely with parents to celebrate growth and address challenges along the way.
