About Jerne

Hi! I'm Jerne, a former 6th-grade science teacher with a passion for helping students learn in a way that actually makes sense to them. I have experience working with students of different ages, learning styles, and ability levels, including gifted learners. I believe tutoring should build confidence, not just improve grades. I'm patient, encouraging, and great at breaking difficult concepts into smaller, easier-to-understand steps. I can assist with science, reading, writing, homework support, study skills, test preparation, and general elementary and middle school subjects. I've completed my master's degree and bring both my education and real classroom experience into every tutoring session. Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and realizing that they are capable of more than they think!
